Education. Training. Work Experience.
Autism & Neurodivergence. I've worked in clinical mental health for 25 years, with an expertise in autism and neurodivergence. I am highly accomplished in work with families and partners of autistics. I give in-depth trainings to organizations on autism where I educate clinicians on the most effective and non-pathologizing therapies for autistics. I enjoy utilizing this expertise with autism evaluations. I provide a generative inquiry that is non-pathologizing, and I share deep insights that are beneficial for a lifetime.
DBT, Liberation & Depth Psychologies, Biological Sciences. My professional career includes a mastery of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I trained with the creator of DBT, Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. from 2004-2006 in Seattle. I've used DBT skills in my own life since then, and have taught them to clients with great success at providing relief and desired change. Additional approaches I bring to sessions are Systems Theory, Liberation Psychologies, Biological and Somatic, CBT & Depth Psychologies. See more on these HERE.
Populations. My LMFT license means that I have education, training and expertise with families, couples, relationships, children and individuals. This brings comprehensive knowledge to our sessions for creating changes. I've always practiced with LBGTQIA+ folx and am part of the queer community. I have been in Mexican and Latin American communities since I was a child. I have an extensive personal and professional experience in these populations. Settings that I've worked in include schools, homes, non-profits and for profit organizations, youth prisons, the legal system, civic spaces and nursing.
